Hats off to the City of Toronto
Believe me when I say that I am ever so jubilant and rewarded anytime an entity gets it and for today it’s all about the City of Toronto!
On October 12 2022 I did my Civic Duty, when I voted in this City’s Municipal Election and I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did the agents at the desk get it but lo and behold! I was able to vote independently by using a voting machine that was fully equipped with voice software.
O yes! This voting machine not only had the ability to provide me with audio screens but all of its keys were fully labelled in Braille and the audio instructions were clear and very easy to follow. Most important, the audio voice was so very easy to understand.
Yes, hats off to the City of Toronto but now here comes my question of the day!
What’s stopping the Province of Ontario and Elections Canada from following suit?
Why is it that both province and Federal Elections are still not implementing this nifty voting machine?
What is the excuse or reason?
I would be very interested to hear from these two entities.
Just my two cents for today.
