LETTER IN SUPPORT OF BARRIER-FREE CANADA:
On behalf of all of us at March of Dimes Canada, I wish to offer our whole-hearted support for the principles of a Canadians with Disabilities Act promoted by Barrier-Free Canada.
This is not only consistent with the mandate of March Dimes Canada, which is to create a society inclusive of people with disabilities, but complements our work over the past several years in promoting accessibility legislation from coast to coast to coast.
We look forward to working with you to see the introduction of legislation in the Parliament of Canada to enact a strong and effective Canadians with Disabilities Act to achieve a barrier-free Canada for all persons with disabilities.
In fact, we see the next federal election in 2015 as an ideal opportunity help position this issue on the political radar, and hopefully see the introduction of such a bill in the first session of Parliament following next year’s election.
